The words Scout uses, defined.

The words Scout and this site use, and what they mean.

Workspace

Your company's Scout account: its roles, candidates, team and settings. One Slack workspace connects to one Scout workspace. Sometimes called the agency.

Role

A position you are hiring for, with its description and must-haves. The brief Scout works from. See Roles.

Interview guide

The questions Scout asks in a screening interview, with follow-ups and what a good answer looks like. Reusable across roles. See Interview guides.

Template

A ready-made interview guide for a common role, for example Account Executive (Enterprise). Thirteen are built in.

Intro screen

The short, six-question guide Scout drafts for a new role.

Round

One interview stage within a role. A role can have an intro screen and a second, deeper round.

Screening mode

Whether a role screens candidates with the AI interview or with a CV review. See AI screening or CV review.

Demo interview

A link Scout gives you to take a role's interview yourself, exactly as a candidate will.

Invitation

A candidate's personal interview link, sent by email or LinkedIn message. Valid for 14 days.

Scorecard

Scout's grading of one interview: verdict, score out of 100, summary, strengths, concerns and competency ratings. See Scorecards.

Verdict

Fit, Partially fit or Not fit. A recommendation you can overrule.

Sender

The connected LinkedIn account Scout sends from. Starts paused; goes live on an owner's or admin's say-so.

Outreach queue

The list of people waiting to be contacted, shared fairly across live roles within your daily limit.

Daily limit

The most connection requests Scout sends from one LinkedIn account in a rolling 24 hours. Default 10, ceiling 60. See Pacing and limits.

Do-not-contact list

People Scout will never contact, added by you or automatically when someone opts out. See Message log and do-not-contact.

Notification channel

The Slack channel where Scout posts the digest, CV reviews, escalations and the LinkedIn conversation mirror. Set with /scout notify.

Digest

The scheduled pipeline report in Slack, with the carousel of completed scorecards. Weekly on Monday at 09:00 by default.

Escalation

A "Needs a human answer" card: a candidate's question Scout could not answer from your company knowledge. Your reply is saved for next time.

Your calendar link. Scout sends it to a candidate when you press Make an intro or Interested, and asks for it the first time. A role with its own interview contact uses that person's booking link instead.

Knowledge

What Scout may tell candidates about your company: company information, the hiring pitch, objection responses, and every escalation you have answered.

Confirm card

The Confirm and Cancel card Scout posts before a destructive or expensive action. Only the person who asked can press it, and it expires in 15 minutes.
