Sourcing and outreach

Pacing and limits

Daily connection limits, rolling windows, how the budget is shared across roles, working hours and weekends.

Scout sends from your LinkedIn account, so it sends at a pace that keeps that account safe. The limits are yours to set, within a ceiling.

The daily limit

Connection Requests Per Day is set under Outreach Agent then Behavior, or by asking Scout. It applies per connected LinkedIn account.

Default10 a day
Range1 to 60
Up to 30Generally safe
31 to 40Above what most accounts sustain
41 to 50Accounts start getting restricted
Over 50A send block is likely

Rolling windows

The limit is enforced over a rolling 24 hours, not a calendar day, and over a rolling 7 days at seven times the daily number. A send at 11pm counts against the following morning, and a week's worth of quiet days does not bank extra sends for Friday.

Fair share across roles

When several roles are live, the daily budget is shared round-robin between them, so every role gets a turn each day. Five roles on a limit of 20 get roughly four each, rather than the oldest role taking all twenty.

Working hours and weekends

Under Behavior you set Working Hours and a Timezone. Scout sends and replies inside those hours. The default is all day, Europe/London. Pause outreach on weekends stops sending on Saturday and Sunday. Replies to candidates follow the same hours.

Follow-ups

A candidate who accepts but goes quiet gets a follow-up after three days, up to three follow-ups, by default. Both are adjustable: one to fourteen days apart, one to ten follow-ups.

Retries and failures

A send that fails for a temporary reason, such as LinkedIn being slow, is retried up to three times. A permanent failure, such as a profile that no longer exists, is marked failed on the Outreach page and not retried.

Usage guard rail

Scout also watches how much work your outreach is doing each month. At half and at 80 percent of the monthly allowance it posts a note in your channel. At the limit it pauses outreach and tells you; nothing is lost, and you can ask Scout to raise the limit or say "go live" to resume.

Changing the limit

Ask Scout ("set the daily limit to 20") or use the slider under Outreach Agent then Behavior. Changes take effect on the next send. Raising the limit past 30 shows a warning on the slider for a reason: a restricted LinkedIn account stops every role at once.
